Welcome to Our Practice
At Helotes Children’s Dentistry, we strive to provide your child with the ultimate pediatric dental experience. Our pediatric dentist, Dr. Renee Mikulec, and her staff focus on building a friendly relationship with your children, putting them at ease, allowing for the performance of dental procedures in a relaxed and comfortable environment. We offer a wide range of pediatric dental services to address whatever your child needs.

Dr. Renee Mikulec
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist / Owner
‘Dr. Renee’ Mikulec is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a proud Texan! She was born in San Antonio, TX and grew up in the Dallas area.
Dr. Renee completed her undergrad at Texas Woman’s University, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio in 2005, graduating cum laude. Dr. Renee obtained a Master of Science and Pediatric Dental Certificate from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry Division of Pediatric Dentistry in 2007, where she served as a Chief Resident from 2006-2007.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also an active member of; the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, San Antonio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, San Antonio District Dental Society, and the American Laser Study Club.
In her free time, Dr. Renee enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys traveling, hiking, running, and attending concerts at Texas music hot spots.

Dr. Renee is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Your Dentist Knows Best
Don’t rush when you brush!
The American Dental Association recommends brushing for at least two minutes twice per day. It is also recommended that you assist your younger children as they lack the fine motor skills required to accomplish a thorough cleaning.
Visit your dentist once every six months
The ADA also recommends a professional cleaning and examination every six months. Many dental insurance carriers support this recommendation by covering these preventive services in their entirety.
Don’t Forget to Floss!
Flossing is not only used as a means to remove material stuck between your child’s teeth, it also provides a means to remove harmful plaque below the gum-line.
